Reflections

Reflections

The wall hangings ‘Happiness’, ‘Imperial’ and ‘Reflection’ were created one after another for an exhibition at Kuwait National Gallery in 2019. The subject matter had to be abstract. This suits the way I create and design. The way I create is always about the amalgamation of colour and texture. How one colour relates to another. The surprise of mixing and matching and miss-matching of colour is the very aspect of what excites me.

‘Imperial’ and ‘Reflection’ are stories about the colour purple. Both of these works have nearly the same colour palette. The difference in these two works are the proportion of colour and how the colour has been applied to the surface. Because of the varying techniques I have used in these pieces, the outcomes are quite different. Proportion of colour is an endlessly fascinating subject.
