Tendrils
On the 17th – 18th March 2018, I was very pleased to be invited to present a workshop at ‘Off the Rails’ Arthouse, a magical artist lead project in Fife. I arrived to be welcomed at the studio by the artist and painter Sheila Page with a roaring fire in the studio. A warming and inspiring environment indeed.
I was discussing and developing the making of a thread, a yarn, but I prefer to call them tendrils because they are more than a thread. The processes I was teaching and demonstrating were techniques I use in my work. I think about the 3-dimensional quality of the thread, it is an object in itself to be considered and explored.
